Hello Friends!
As you already know, at the beginning of 2024, I presented the art project “Turning Point” with a solo exhibition at the Plovdiv Cultural Institute. The project featured 28 paintings, a raffle, live painting sessions, and discussions on abstract art. Additionally, we held a charity auction for one of the paintings from the exhibition.
The proceeds from the sale of the painting “The Braiding of Life” were donated to support conservation efforts of the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds. Thanks to friends like you, we raised and donated 780 BGN, which were used to build nesting boxes for the vulnerable species, the Eurasian Three-toed Woodpecker, listed in the “Vulnerable” category of Bulgaria’s Red Data Book.
The Eurasian Three-toed Woodpecker primarily inhabits coniferous and mixed forests, and its presence indicates a healthy ecosystem. The nesting boxes will be placed in the Western Rhodopes, specifically in the Belasitsa Nature Reserve, which partly falls within a protected area under the “Rhodopes-West” Habitats Directive.
